Travis Raker began rowing at Lake Brantley High School, under the “Legendary” Bram Fowler in the Fall of 1995, He rowed in an undefeated novice 8 that captured the 1996 Men’s Novice 8 state title. In his junior year Coach Travis rowed in the 1997 State Champion Men’s Lightweight 4 and placed second at Scholastic Nationals in the Men’s Lightweight 4. That summer a combined Lake Brantley/Leon Lightweight 8 rowed to a Intermediate Lightweight 8 final appearance at the Canadian Royal Henley. In his Senior year with Lake Brantley Crew Coach Travis rowed in the State-Runner up Lightweight 4 and was Seven seat in the Lightweight 8 that was the first Lake Brantley Men’s 8 to make the Heavyweight 8 final at States. That same Lightweight 8 went on to place 4th at Scholastic Nationals.

Coach Travis then moved on to rowing for Central Florida Crew at UCF. He rowed and coxed for the Knights for two years, winning the 2000 Men’s Lightweight at FIRA.

Coach Travis returned to Lake Brantley Crew in the Fall of 2001 to take over a very small but dedicated number of athletes on the Men’s varsity program. With renewed energy and determination Lake Brantley men went on to float out one of its largest Crews with 37 athletes and earning its first medals in the Men’s Varsity 8 at States with a Bronze, along with another Lightweight 4 State title and a Second place in the Freshmen 8. In his Second year (2002-2003) at the Men’s Coach Lake Brantley men swelled to 64 athletes (31 varsity, 33 novice) and was the largest Men’s team in the State of Florida. The 2003 campaign was one of Lake Brantley’s finest with the Men’s Varsity 8 again earning a Bronze at States, the First Lightweight placing 3rd in the JV8, the 2nd Heavyweight 8 placing 2nd in the 3rd varsity, the 2nd Lightweight 8 winning the Lightweight 8, the Ltwt4 placing 3rd , and the Frosh four winning a Gold. This year marked the first time Lake Brantley had captured not only the Men’s Points trophy but also the program winning the Women’s points and was the first Crew to unseat Winter Park for the Overall points at States in nearly a decade . The 2003 Lightweight four went on to place 6th at Scholastic Nationals.

After these successes Coach Travis moved onto the College club ranks helping to coach the Central Florida Crew lightweight program in the Fall of 2003.

In the Fall of 2005 Coach Travis took over the Head Coaching position of Central Florida Crew. The 05-06 captured the Metro Cup points Trophy, the Augusta Invitational points Trophy and was 2nd place in overall points at the FIRA state Championships and a SIRA’s championship in the Men’s Frosh ltwt4. The 06-07 was highlighted by again capturing the Metro Cup points Trophy, the Petrakis Cup points trophy, a Frosh Men’s four Victory at FIRA , A third place finish in the Men’s V8 at FIRA and the Men’s Club by itself placing third overall at states. The Men’s Heavyweight Freshmen four also earned an appearance in the Dad Vail final finishing 6th out roughly 50 entries. Coach Travis and his Father also worked tirelessly to garner 501c3 status for the club, making it the only tax-exempt collegiate rowing club in the South

Coach Travis is an Environmental Chemist with Orange County Utilities and has a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a minor in Marketing from the University of Central Florida.

Jason Berric - Women's Varsity Coach - coach.jasonberric@gmail.com
Jason is a product of the Winter Park rowing program as both a rower and coach. Specifically, he rowed at Winter Park for 2 years before graduating in 2003. He then went to college at NC State where he coached the Men's and Women's crew for 3 years. He graduated in 2006 with a BS in Chemistry. Upon returning to Central Florida, Jason became the Head/Varsity Women's coach for Power Ten in its inaugural season. He then returned to the Winter Park rowing program where he has been the Freshman Women's coach the past 2 seasons and enjoyed tremendous success.

Sean began rowing with Central Florida crew’s men’s team (UCF) in 2005 under Coach Travis Raker. At UCF he was in the Frosh/Nov lightweight 4 which won gold at the SIRA. During his second year with the team he was elected as Treasurer and continued to be competitive in the lightweight category. In 2007 Sean was again elected treasurer and continued expanding his rowing knowledge under Coach Dennis Kamrad. In his senior year with the team Sean was elected Vice President and went on to fill the duties of President and Treasurer. Along with coaching for Lake Brantley Sean is in pursuit of a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

John started his rowing career at Lake Brantley High School under the coaching of then Freshmen Coach Blaine Tolison and Head Coach Travis Raker in the fall of 2002. He spent two years as a rower and two years as a coxswain. In spring of 2003, John helped LBRA earn its first scholastic state points title with a bronze finish in the Lightweight 4. During his senior year, he coxed a Lightweight 8 at Stotesbury Cup Regatta that made it to the semifinals. John is excited to return for his second year of coaching at LBRA, his alma mater. He is currently pursuing a career in Physical Therapy.

Jordynn Pauls - Men's Sculling & Varsity Coach - jpauls7@hotmail.com
Jordynn began rowing for Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School in her sophomore year (2002-03). She competed in the Canadian Secondary School Rowing Association (CSSRA) Championships placing 3rd in the Mid-weight Women’s 4 and 1st in the Jr. Women’s 8. In 2004-05 her boat participated in the American Scholastic Championships and the Stotesbury Cup. At the Stotesbury Cup, she received Gold in the Jr. Women’s 8. Jordynn competed at the CSSRA Championships winning both the Sr. Mid-weight 8, and the Sr. Mid-weight 4. In 2005-06, Jordynn switched from sweep to sculling, training under previous USA Olympic Team and USA National Team rower; now Ridley Graduate Boat Club head coach Nancy Storrs. She started off the season with The Head of the Fish receiving two silvers in a double and a quad. Jordynn ended her senior season at the CSSRA with a 4th place finish in the Sr. Women’s Double.

In 2006, Jordynn began to row for UCF’s Women’s Varsity Crew. Racing in the Women’s 4, she placed 2nd at SIRA. In her sophomore and junior years Jordynn made a strong presence in the 1st Varsity 8, racing against nationally ranked schools. Her senior year, Jordynn was elected Team Captain and participated in the schools first ever conference regatta. In the Conference-USA, she raced in the 1st Varsity 8, placing 3rd, and the UCF Team placed 2nd overall.

Through the summers, Jordynn has participated in summer club rowing where she mainly sculls. Most recently, the summer 2010 she has competed in the Ontario Championships placing 4th in the Under 23 double, 2nd in the U23 quad, and 1st in the Sr. double. Jordynn began coaching summer 2010 for Ridley Graduate Boat Club. She coached the Under 17 Women who competed in the Ontario Championships taking Silver in the U17 Single and a Gold in the U17 Double. She recently graduated from UCF with a BA in Anthropology and a Certificate in Crime Scene Investigation.

Emily Congdon - Women's Novice Coach - coach.mole@yahoo.com
Emily is a recent graduate of the University of Florida where she rowed all four years of her college career. As a freshman, she won gold in the Women’s Novice 8+ at the Spring FIRA Championship Regatta. She went on to race in the Varsity 8+ at the Head of the Charles in 2007. At the Head of the Hooch in 2008, her boat won the Women’s Club 8+ event. She also took home bronze in the Women’s JV4+ at Spring FIRAs back-to-back in 2009 and 2010. Beyond her competitive accomplishments, Emily was also a very active member of Florida Crew’s executive board and was a key figure in the recent growth of the team. She served as chairperson of a number of committees, Vice President of Administration for 2 years, and was a Sports Club Councilmember with UF’s Department of Recreation. She looks forward to her first year of coaching with LBRA.
