Jason Berric - Women's Varsity Coach - coach.jasonberric@gmail.com
Jason is a product of the Winter Park rowing program as both a rower and coach. Specifically, he rowed at Winter Park for 2 years before graduating in 2001. He then went to college at NC State where he coached Men's and Women's crew for 3 years. He graduated in 2006 with a BS in Chemistry. Upon returning to Central Florida, Jason became the head coach for Power Ten in its inaugural season. He then returned to the Winter Park rowing program where he was the Freshman Girl's coach for two seasons. Highlights there included leading the freshman to the '08 State Championship title as well as taking 5th at the Stotesbury Cup Regatta.
Joining the LBRA staff in 2009, he has brought his successes to the girl's program. Most notably in spring '10, the girls claimed a bronze medal at the Florida State Championships in the Varsity 8+; followed by having two eights make the finals at Nationals. In 2011, his Junior 8+ earned the programs first Stotesbury Cup medal and National Championship medal in the 8+, claiming silver at both.

Emily is a recent graduate of the University of Florida where she rowed all four years of her college career. As a freshman, she won gold in the Women’s Novice 8+ at the Spring FIRA Championship Regatta. She went on to race in the Varsity 8+ at the Head of the Charles in 2007. At the Head of the Hooch in 2008, her boat won the Women’s Club 8+ event. She also took home bronze in the Women’s JV4+ at Spring FIRAs back-to-back in 2009 and 2010. Beyond her competitive accomplishments, Emily was also a very active member of Florida Crew’s executive board and was a key figure in the recent growth of the team. She served as chairperson of a number of committees, Vice President of Administration for 2 years, and was a Sports Club Councilmember with UF’s Department of Recreation.

Coach Phil is USRowing Certified level 2 Coach and is excited to be entering his first year coaching with Lake Brantley. He started rowing at Edgewater High School and was a 4 year rower (2 years as a coxswain, 2 as a rower) where at he won two state titles, in the Novice 8 as a coxswain and Light 4 as a rower. He then attended UCF and graduated in 2009 with a BS in Criminal Justice. In 2006 he started coaching the Power Ten Men's team in its inaugural season and was the Head Coach/Women's Varsity Coach from 2007-2010; during those years he had continues success building the program on and off the water which included many state and regional medals, along with USRowing Youth National bids and appearances. During those years he also coached Masters rowing at Orlando Rowing Club. He spent the last year as the Men's Varsity coach at Edgewater High School where his boats took home three FSRA state medals and raced at SRAA Nationals. Coach Phil is looking forward to a great year!

Aubrey Wetteland - Men's Varsity Coach - aubrey.wetteland@gmail.com
Coach Aubrey is a Winter Park alumnus who spent his four years with
the team under the coaching of Dan Bertossa. As a freshman he was the coxswain of the freshman-rowed Junior 4+ that made it to semi-finals
at Stotesbury, and then returned his sophomore year to cox the Second
8+ and Junior 8+. As a rower he stroked the Second 8+ at both
Stotesbury and SRAA Nationals in 2005, the same year that the Senior
Eight won its first national gold. After helping out at Winter Park
during the fall season of 2008, Aubrey was inspired to reconnect with
the sport and began rowing at ORC the following spring. He went on to
be an assistant coach for the women's team at Lake Brantley during the
2009-2010 season, coaching a Varsity 4+ to win the petite finals at
the FSRA State Championships and a Junior 4+ to bronze at the
Southeast Regional Championships. After a year of coaching he changed
his major over from Preclinical Health to Exercise Science and is
still attending school at UCF.

Brandon Horak - Men's Assistant Coach - brandon1horak@gmail.com
Brandon is entering his first season as the men's novice coach for LBRA. He is a graduate of Dr. Phillips High School and the Orlando Area Rowing Society where he began his rowing career as a freshman. After graduating in 2007, two consecutive 2nd place finishes at the Southeast Youth Championship regatta, and racing at the USRowing Youth National Championship with the MV8+ in Cincinnati, OH. he went on to Georgia Southern University where he studied Art History and Military Science. On his return to Florida he rejoined the Orlando Area Rowing Society as an assistant to the middle school program. He later began coaching the women's masters as well, where he has enjoyed success in regattas through-out the state. Brandon is looking forward to continued success in the coming season.

Michael Hawkins - Men's Assistant Coach - michaelhawkins01@gmail.com
Michael "Hawk" Hawkins rowed with Coach Aubrey Wetteland at Winter Park Crew under Dan Bertossa from 2001 until 2005. At states, his boat enjoyed placing first every year. As a sophomore, he made the Varsity 8 and competed nationally in the Varsity 8 and Junior 8. An injury cut his junior years short, but he returned senior year. That spring, he rowed bow seat in the Varsity 8 – his boat had an undefeated regular season and won the National Championships. They were the first Varsity 8 boat from Winter Park Crew, or from Florida, to accomplish this.
After graduating, Michael was recruited to row at Florida Tech (formerly Florida Institute of Technology). He rowed in the Freshman 8, which placed second at both states and the Dad Vail Regatta. The following fall, he discovered Ultimate Frisbee. He served as Captain and Coach for three years, leading Florida Tech's Ultimate Frisbee team to victory, including placing first of Division III schools at sectional championships.
Michael will receive has bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Florida Tech in December 2011. Thereafter, he plans to attend law school and practice patent law. Since first making the Varsity 8 in high school, he has sought to coach crew; he looks forward to joining a crew family again.
Michael is a career bowman. He is also an Eagle Scout.

Christina Duba - Middle School Coach - cduba4@hotmail.com
Christina started rowing competitively as a member of the Lake Brantley Rowing Association her freshman year and continued to row throughout her high school years. In 2003, her junior year, LBRA attended states and accomplished one of the finest moments in history; claiming the triple crown. Thereafter, Christina experienced the sports ultimate triumph when her V4 successfully took bronze at Nationals.
She returned five years later as a coach for the middle school program. Christina is gladly starting her second season with LBRA. As well as, finishing up her second year at Seminole State College in the medical program.
