ATTENTION: Next Learn to Row Session is Sunday January 29th from 9-11am
About Us
Lake Brantley Rowing Association is pleased to announced the addition of the Adult Rowing Support Program. This program will be available for adults in the area wanting to participate and race in the sport of rowing. Beyond the opportunity to race, regular practices will allow individuals to get into a healthy routine of working out.
What sets our Adult Program apart from all programs in the area is one unique feature: The dues from our adult rowers will go directly towards providing a less fortunate student the opportunity to participate on the high school team. Lake Brantley Rowing Association has an "Angel" program whereby the club provides financial support to some students unable to afford the cost of rowing. Unfortunately, participation in the Angel Program is limited by funding. By design, the adult program will allow our club the privilege of welcoming more students onto our team, while allowing you the chance to fully participate in the sport of rowing.
Practice Schedule
Tuesday and Thursday 6 - 7:30 am
Sunday 7-9am
Our hope is that as this portion of our club grows, we will be able to offer additional and alternate practice times. .
INEXPERIENCED ROWERS
We will hold regularly announced Learn-to-Row sessions for interested participants. These sessions will provide new rowers the basic knowledge and terminology associated with rowing, as well as a general idea of the rowing stroke sequence. Check the Calendar for upcoming Learn-to-Row classes.
Cost
$75/month. This cost, as stated, is what is necessary to allow (1) high school rower the opportunity to row. It also will pay for coaching and maintenance of equipment. If you would prefer to pay Per-Session instead of monthly, the cost is $10/session.
Currently if you have a child on the team, your cost is $40/month.
Note: as of January 2012 the cost per month will go up to $60 /month for those adults who currently have rowers in the club .
Private lessons can held in groups of two or more and will cost $20 per session (additional $7.50 for every rower after two).
Location
All practices will be held at the John Mclain Legacy Boathouse and run by most of the programs existing seven coaches.
Come spin the ergometer fan! What's an ergometer, you ask? It is the primary training machine used by rowers all across the globe. However in recent years, the ergometer has seen major popularity growth in the non-rowing community because of what the training machine is able to offer. It has become a well-known fact that there is no full-body cardio machine better than what the ergometer can offer. So while some traditional spinning classes may work your legs more, such classes provide exercises that which almost entirely isolate only specific muscles. Instead, come get the same intensity but working all regions of the body! Sessions will provide both technical training as well as a rigorous workout tailored to optimal caloric burn. Sessions are just $5 and available Monday thru Friday from 6:30-7:30pm.
Email the Adult/Masters Program Coordinator for queries, details or to sign up for a session. Only 24hr advance notice needed.
