PROGRAM FAQ:
What kind of programs does LBRA offer?
Besides our scholastic program for high school students in the Lake Brantley attendance zone, LBRA offers programs for any middle school students in Orange and Seminole countries. In addition LBRA offers adult rowing programs and programs especially designed for children with special needs such as Down's Syndrome or autism.
What programs are available for middle school age students?
The middle school program meets on Saturday mornings at the LBRA Boathouse. This program is designed to introduce potential new rowers to competitive rowing when they get into high school. Students who participate in the middle school program do not have fundraising commitments but are still eligible to come to the end of the year banquet.
Should you become a rower?
Lake Brantley Crew is open to all Lake Brantley High School and home schooled students who reside in the LBHS zone, subject to the club's minimum GPA requirement. And here's the best part: No previous rowing experience is required! Unlike most other high school sports, Lake Brantley Crew does not have tryouts followed by a "cut" to a certain team size. If you want to get in the best shape of your life, meet lifelong friends and experience the one true "team" sport, come join us!
What about summer camps?
LBRA offers programs for scholastic rowers, adults, middle school rowers, and rowers with special needs during the summer from our facility. The programs meet in the late afternoons for 2-3 hours 3 days per week. It is a great way to learn the sport and stay in condition for the fall season.
Does LBRA offer any programs for adults?
LBRA offers rowing programs throughout the year for adults.
